Pathology of Qualitative Descriptive Evaluation in Primary School Course of Study at Corona Virus Crisis Era

Abstract

Objective: Studying lived experiences of teachers for identifying challenges and problems of qualitative description evaluation of Primary School Course of Study at Corona Virus Crisis Era.
Methods: This is a qualitative-descriptive & phenomenological study. In this research 16 male and female teachers of primary course of study who were teaching at Karaj County in the Educational Year 2021-2022 were interviewed by the semi-structured interview method. The respondents were selected purposefully. The data were analyzed via 7-Stage Strategy of Colaizzi .
Results: Analysis of the teachers’ interviews resulted in 3 general implications: 1- Problems of Qualitative-Descriptive Evaluation , and related elements in  the curriculums 2- Problems of Qualitative-Descriptive Evaluation and contradictory understanding of the beneficiaries 3- Problems of Qualitative-Descriptive Evaluation in Tools & Execution Phase.
Conclusion:. Analysis of the interviews with the teachers showed that in the era of corona virus crisis and on-line education, they were facing variety of challenges in materialization of principles and objectives of the qualitative descriptive evaluation. The most important of which was reduction of quality of evaluation of the contents learned by the students due to limited possibility of receiving feedbacks and low literacy of the students in basic skills.
